Radio Gunjan CRS

Gunjan Radio is the Goonj (echo) of a vibrant multi ethnic community nestling in the lap of the majestic Dhauladhar Range of foothills of Himalayas since 2016 with 24 hrs of broadcast. This gregarious socio-economically diversified community encourages participatory civic culture and is highly sensitive towards sociological and environmental changes. Radio Gunjan is the voice of the community. It is an open platform for the people to meet, band together and help transform the community’s life. The radio gives voice to the voiceless and marginalized thereby, empowering individuals and enriching the community as a whole. The team at Radio Gunjan believes in building the traditional person to person connect by reaching out to a large section of the community and serving them in their languages and dialects. The stress is on two way communication. This dynamic tool of self expression provides a window of opportunity to one and all to sharpen their oratory skills and boost self esteem. Radio Gunjan sets the ‘community talking’. The content of the programme is fine tuned to the interest of the audience and their feedback is consistently sought. Individuals and groups can access and actively participate in talk shows, tell their own stories and share experiences. ‘The echo of oneness’ reaches farther than its 30 kilometer radius now. Thanks to the radio, the community of approximately five lakh is once again humming to the tune of the nearly forgotten folk!
